If you remember all the way back to the beginning of July, we announced Limestone Branch would release the 2023 addition of Yellowstone Limited Edition finished in Tokaji barrels. This was a bottle that I look forward to every year and couldn’t wait to try it! So let’s dive into our latest review!
Just the facts:
- Proof: 101
- Age: A mingling of 7, 13 & 16 year old
- Style: Finished Kentucky Straight Bourbon
- Finish: Tokaji
- Mashbill: Undisclosed
- Price: $99.00
Jake’s tasting notes: 2023 Yellowstone 101 Limited Edition
Nose: Light nose, brunt sugar, vanilla custard, hints of citrus and a wisp of evergreen.
Palate: Leads with macadamia nuts, caramel, vanilla, hints of apple and other orchard fruits.
Finish: Dry finish with lingering fruits for a short to medium finish.
Closing Thoughts:
The 2023 Yellowstone 101 Limited Edition is a good example of blending and finishing bourbon. I really enjoy the flavors that this pour produces. If you are looking at the limited editions to be hunting this fall, I firmly believe this should be on your list.
