“Community Whiskey” Marks the First Release in a Revitalized Portfolio
LANCASTER, KY (January 16, 2025) – Staghorn’s Garrard County Distilling Co. is revitalizing its entire whiskey lineup, beginning with the relaunch of its flagship offering: All Nations Kentucky Straight Bourbon. This 5- to 7-year-old blend, crafted by a panel of seasoned distillers, is available at a wallet-friendly $39.99 SRP.
Award-Winning Bourbon with a Unique Approach
All Nations Kentucky Straight Bourbon has already made a splash, earning a Gold Medal with 95 points at the 2024 International Wine and Spirits Competition and a Double Gold at the 2024 America’s Best Beverage Awards. This achievement highlights the expertise of Garrard County Distilling Co.’s panel, comprising industry veterans from Jim Beam, Barton, MGP, and Bluegrass.
A Collaborative Crafting Process
Unlike traditional methods, where a single Master Distiller leads the process, All Nations embraces a democratic approach. The panel collectively blends the bourbon, ensuring a nuanced and inclusive flavor profile that appeals to a wide range of palates. This collaborative effort led to the moniker “community whiskey,” a nod to the shared stories and experiences it evokes.
Rich Heritage and Kentucky Craftsmanship
Garrard County Distilling Co., Kentucky’s largest independent distillery launched in 2024, sourced the whiskey for All Nations from renowned distilleries along the Kentucky Bourbon Trail. These distilleries, separated by nearly 200 miles, contributed to the unique character of this bourbon. The mash bills used include:
- 75% corn, 12% rye, 13% malted barley
- 70% corn, 21% rye, 9% malted barley
- 64% corn, 24% rye, 12% malted barley
Aged in #4 alligator char barrels across various Kentucky locations, the bourbon underwent its final aging at Garrard County Distilling Co. in Lancaster, KY. The water used in blending comes from the limestone-rich Lancaster Public Spring aquifer, first tapped in 1776.
Tasting Notes
All Nations offers a captivating nose of sweet spice, dry leather, clove, Madagascar vanilla, and toasted turbinado sugar, reminiscent of campfire marshmallows. The palate delights with poached pear, honeyed black tea, and tobacco smoke, leading to a savory finish of white peppercorn and subtle black walnut. Bottled at 96 proof, it’s perfect both neat and in classic cocktails.
Availability and Future Releases
All Nations Kentucky Straight Bourbon is currently available in Georgia, Kentucky, and Tennessee through select distributors and online at Garrard County Distilling Co.. The Small Batch and Single Barrel Bourbons will be reintroduced in the coming months.
Historical Inspiration
The name All Nations harks back to the late 1800s when Carrie Nation led her temperance crusade, famously smashing saloons. Bars displayed posters reading, “All Nations Welcome Except Carrie.” Garrard County Distilling Co. crafted All Nations as a counterpoint to her singular voice, embodying the spirit of collaboration and community.
