Barrell Craft Spirits (BCS) has released 12-Year French Toast(ed), a blend of straight bourbons finished in several types of French oak casks. It’s part of BCS’s Red Label Series, which pairs age-stated whiskeys with finishing casks. It’s bottled at 107.24 proof (53.62% ABV) for a suggested $159.99 per 750 mL.

The blend uses straight bourbons distilled in Indiana, Kentucky, Tennessee and Wyoming and aged 12 to 17 years. It was finished in French oak casks of varying toast levels, mostly Grand Chauffe barrels, for deeper, more complex flavor. The name comes from the French toast flavors that emerged from the blend.

“This is our second release of a 12-year bourbon finished in French Oak,” said BCS Founder Joe Beatrice. “While this bourbon whiskey shares the same foundation as our first release, we take a vintage-like approach with each batch, allowing every expression to develop its own distinct character.”
