Añejo Tequila Barrel-Finished Bourbon from Lux Row Distillers

ST. LOUIS (March 25, 2025) – Lux Row Distillers is set to release Blood Oath Pact 11 Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey, the latest installment in its highly anticipated annual series. Crafted by Master Distiller and Master Blender John Rempe, Pact 11 continues the tradition of blending exceptional, rare bourbons—this time with a unique finish in Añejo tequila barrels.

A Unique Bourbon Blend with Tequila Influence

This year’s blend features a 14-year ryed bourbon and a 10-year wheated bourbon, combined with a 7-year ryed bourbon that underwent additional maturation in barrels previously used for Añejo tequila. The result is a complex, full-bodied bourbon bottled at 98.6 proof (49.3% ABV).

“Añejo tequila has delicious and rich notes due to its aging in bourbon barrels,” said Rempe. “By utilizing the Añejo barrels for this year’s Pact 11, we brought our bourbon full circle while picking up all of the best attributes and flavor notes along the way.”

Tasting Notes – A Bourbon for Whiskey and Tequila Lovers

According to Rempe, Blood Oath Pact 11 delivers a rich and layered drinking experience:

  • Nose: Warm vanilla and black pepper with a sweet infusion of spice and oak
  • Palate: Cherry and citrus notes emerge, leading to a velvety texture
  • Finish: Black cherry and dark chocolate linger, creating a deep, decadent ending

“The tasting experience for Blood Oath Pact 11 begins with the warmth of vanilla and black pepper, sweetly infused with spice and oak,” said Rempe. “From there, notes of cherry and citrus subtly emerge, guiding towards a velvety finish highlighted by black cherry and decadent dark chocolate. It’s a gorgeous expression that’s sure to surprise and please bourbon and tequila drinkers alike.”

Where to Buy Blood Oath Pact 11

Blood Oath Pact 11 will be available for in-person purchases at Lux Row Distillers in Bardstown, Kentucky, starting April 26 at 9:30 a.m. Visitors can enjoy sampling opportunities and special snacks during the release event.

For those unable to attend, a limited allocation of 51,000 bottles will begin arriving at select retailers in April. The suggested retail price is $129.99 per 750ml bottle.

A Limited-Edition Collector’s Bourbon

Each annual Blood Oath Pact release features a distinct label and packaging. This year, Pact 11 is presented in an embossed glass bottle with a mahogany-colored label and gold highlights, housed in a fire-branded wooden display box.

Additionally, 1,400 bottles of Pact 11 will be reserved for a future Blood Oath Trilogy release. Previous Trilogies have included:

  • 2018: Pacts 1, 2, and 3
  • 2021: Pacts 4, 5, and 6 (released for National Bourbon Heritage Month)
  • 2023: Pacts 7, 8, and 9
