Online-Exclusive Recipe from the Celebrated Pastry Chef Honors a Decadent New Limited Edition Blended Malt Whisky by Reimagining the Flavors of the Classic Crème Brûlée
NEW YORK, October 22, 2025 – To celebrate the launch of Compass Box Scotch Whisky’s newest limited-edition Brûlée Royale Blended Malt Scotch Whisky (49% ABV; 700ml; $159.99 SRP), the acclaimed whisky blending house has partnered with world-renowned pastry chef Dominique Ansel to reimagine the classic crème brûlée as a decadent dessert experience — introducing the Brûlée Royale Fondue.
This online-exclusive recipe, available now on CompassBoxWhisky.com, mirrors the flavors of the new whisky — a rich and indulgent expression inspired by the 17th-century origins of crème brûlée in the royal kitchens of Versailles.
“I’ve always been fascinated by the process of whiskymaking, and the craftsmanship and care that goes into creating the perfect blend. Compass Box’s new Brûlée Royale whisky is no exception,” said Chef Dominique Ansel. “Crème brûlée is one of those French dishes that’s simply a classic, but just as the new generation of whiskymakers are experimenting with their craft, there’s room for reinvention. We had a lot of fun developing our Brûlée Royale Fondue recipe as a different way to experience dessert.”
Chef Ansel’s Brûlée Royale Fondue begins with a creamy vanilla bean base, elevated with a splash of Brûlée Royale whisky and brown sugar, adding layers of caramelized depth and malt sweetness. Guests can dip an array of indulgent accompaniments — including apple tarte tatin, Basque cheesecake, toffee brittle, caramelized Danish pastry, fresh berries, and red apple — recreating the flavor journey of the whisky itself. The fondue’s elegant presentation makes it the ultimate shared dessert for those who appreciate culinary artistry and whisky craftsmanship.
