Colonel E.H. Taylor’s enduring legacy of craftsmanship and innovation joins Buffalo Trace’s most coveted collection.

FRANKFORT, KY (October 8, 2025) – Buffalo Trace Distillery proudly celebrates the 25th release of the Buffalo Trace Antique Collection (BTAC) with an exciting new addition — E.H. Taylor Bottled-in-Bond Bourbon. This marks the first new expression in nearly two decades, joining the legendary collection that bourbon fans around the world anticipate each fall.

Since its debut in 2000, the Antique Collection has honored Buffalo Trace’s historic whiskey brands and the pioneers behind them. The 2025 lineup features six remarkable releases: E.H. Taylor Bottled-in-Bond Bourbon, Eagle Rare 17-Year-Old, George T. Stagg, Thomas H. Handy Sazerac Rye, Sazerac 18-Year-Old Rye, and William Larue Weller.

A Fitting Tribute to the “Father of Modern Bourbon”

Widely regarded as the Father of Modern Bourbon, Colonel E.H. Taylor revolutionized whiskey making after purchasing the O.F.C. Distillery — now Buffalo Trace — in 1869. His innovations, from copper fermentation tanks to steam-heated warehouses, continue to influence bourbon production today.

Taylor also played a crucial role in passing the Bottled-in-Bond Act of 1897, one of America’s first consumer protection laws. This landmark legislation set quality standards that still define the industry.

“Colonel Taylor’s signature was a promise of integrity and excellence,” says Andrew Duncan, Global Brand Director at Buffalo Trace Distillery. “Our new E.H. Taylor Bottled-in-Bond Bourbon embodies that same commitment to quality and craftsmanship.”
