New Castle & Key Distiller’s Blade A Great Gift

Castle & Key Giant Mouse Knife Collaboration

Castle & Key Distiller’s Blade Collaboration With GiantMouse Knives is the latest knife and whiskey collab.

Frankfort, KY – In a historic collaboration, Castle & Key Distillery and GiantMouse Knives are set to release an exclusive, limited-edition box set on August 24, 2024. The Castle & Key Distiller’s Blade will be paired with a corresponding numbered bottle of Castle & Key Single Barrel Bourbon, creating the ultimate collectible for connoisseurs of fine bourbon and high-quality knives.

This collaboration features 100 box sets with black titanium handle scales, a dark PVD-finished steel blade, and copper details, available for purchase at the distillery shop ($400). Additionally, 100 sets with blue anodized titanium handle scales and a stonewashed steel blade will be available online at CastleandKey.com and GiantMouse.com ($325).

GiantMouse, formed in 2015 by Danish designers Jens Ansø and Jesper Voxnaes along with American entrepreneur Jim Wirth, was inspired by their immersion at Castle & Key to create a knife that embodies the distillery’s dedication to craftsmanship. The Castle & Key Distiller’s Blade, manufactured in Maniago, Italy, reflects the artistry and tradition of both brands.

To celebrate the release of Castle & Key Distiller’s Blade, there will be a “Meet the Maker” event on August 23, 2024, from 10:30am-4:00pm at the distillery’s retail shop. Attendees can meet GiantMouse CEO Jim Wirth, Co-Designer Jesper Voxnaes, and Castle & Key Lead Blender Brett Connors, who will discuss the creative process behind this collaboration.

About Castle & Key:

Castle & Key is steeped in Kentucky distilling history. With its stunning site dating back to 1887, the distillery is known both as the birthplace of bourbon hospitality and for the high-quality Kentucky spirits made there today. In 2014, Co-Founder Will Arvin began restoring The Old Taylor Distillery — which had fallen to ruin after decades of neglect — with a vision of creating an immersive distillery experience.

Today, the restored distillery has become a popular travel destination for enthusiasts of spirits and history alike. The facility expertly juxtaposes historic architecture and spirits production alongside expansive gardens and public spaces designed by famed fine gardener Jon Carloftis.

The blending team, led by Head Blender Brett Connors, works to accentuate the quality of the spirits produced by the distillers and diverse maturation environments. Castle & Key’s core portfolio includes annual releases of Bourbon, Restoration Rye Whiskey, Sacred Spring Vodka, and Roots of Ruin Gin. Additionally, limited-time, seasonal, and distillery-only exclusives highlight the efforts and innovation of the distillery’s research and development team.
