CHATTANOOGA, TN – August 2025 — Chattanooga Whiskey has announced the latest release in its acclaimed Barrel Finishing SeriesMichigan Maple Syrup Cask Finished Bourbon. This marks the seventh release in the limited series, which explores the union of Tennessee High Malt with regionally sourced finishing casks.

A Tribute to Michigan’s Late Harvest Maple Syrup

For this release, Chattanooga Whiskey turned to America’s Upper Midwest, selecting late harvest maple syrup casks from Michigan. Known for its small batch, kettle-cooked complexity, Michigan maple syrup adds layered notes of maple candy, toasted grain, and soft oak to the whiskey’s profile.

“Since launching our Finishing Series in 2021, our aim has been simple: elevate both the whiskey and the finishing cask,” said Grant McCracken, Founding Distiller.

Blended Mash Bills for Enhanced Flavor

To complement the maple syrup casks, the distilling team blended two bourbon mash bills:

  • Barrel 91: A four-grain, three-malt recipe featuring caramel and honey malts
  • Barrel 76: Long-toasted aromatic malts that mirror the flavors of boiled maple syrup

“Together, these profiles amplify the finishing cask’s character – enhancing its flavor without overshadowing it,” said McCracken.
