Blue Run Spirits Unveils Flight Series III in Georgetown, KY
A Celebration of Whiskey Diversity
GEORGETOWN, KY (May 13, 2025) — Blue Run Spirits introduces the third installment of its Blue Run Flight Series, a collection of “micro-batch” whiskeys crafted by Coors Spirits Co. Head of Whiskey Development and Innovation, Shaylyn Gammon. Featuring six unique expressions, this series blends Kentucky Straight Bourbon and Kentucky Straight Rye, celebrating the contrasts of American cultures and landscapes through whiskey innovation.
“The unique challenge of blending two American Whiskey styles across four mashbills can only be recognized as a journey of discovery,” said Gammon. “Marrying decadent vanilla and honey with spice and savory components naturally results in harmonics that stand out in the nose and on the palate. But the melody created with more subtle and balanced flavors is where the true artistry of these whiskeys is revealed. Consistent with the past Flight Series releases, Series III is an expressive collection of whiskey innovation.”
Blending Bourbon and Rye in Flight Series III
Flight Series III marks the first time the Blue Run Flight Series combines both Kentucky Straight Bourbon and Kentucky Straight Rye. Previous releases explored different inspirations: Flight Series I focused on Kentucky Straight Bourbon blends, while Flight Series II drew sensory notes from nature. Each expression in Series III uses no more than four barrels, sourced from distilleries like Castle & Key, Bardstown Bourbon Company, and an undisclosed facility, with barrels aged in non-temperature-controlled warehouses in Bardstown.
