Ghostwood 3 Brothers Bourbon: 6-Year High-Rye Bourbon for $49

Ghostwood Whiskey, whose Original Blended Bourbon won Double Gold at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition in 2023 and 2024, has introduced Ghostwood 3 Brothers Bourbon. The six-year, three-grain, high-rye bourbon was inspired by founder Lucas Perks’ memories of nights around the campfire with his two brothers. Its release coincides with all three brothers joining the family business.

“Some of my favorite memories with my brothers are the simple ones: getting away into the woods, sitting around a fire, telling ghost stories, and enjoying being together among the trees,” said Lucas Perks, Ghostwood Whiskey founder. “That is the spirit behind 3 Brothers Bourbon. We wanted to make an unpretentious, authentic, and approachable American bourbon meant to be opened, shared, and enjoyed with the people who matter to you.”

The bourbon was distilled in Indiana from 60% corn, 36% rye and 4% malted barley. It aged six years in new American oak with a No. 4 char and was bottled at 80 proof by Ghostwood Distilling Co. in Columbia, Illinois. It contains no wheat, which brings it back to three of the four grains behind Ghostwood’s flagship. It comes in a clear bottle rather than the brand’s usual black glass.

“3 Brothers Bourbon gives us an opportunity to introduce Ghostwood Whiskey to more whiskey drinkers while staying true to what the brand is about: family, craftsmanship, adventure, and whiskey worth sharing,” said Lachlan Perks. “It brings a rye-forward character to the portfolio in a bourbon that is equally at home around a campfire, shared among friends, or simply poured at the end of the day.”

Tasting notes

Nose: Caramel, creamy vanilla, cocoa, chocolate, roasted nuts
Palate: Caramel and vanilla, with cocoa, dark chocolate and light smoke
Finish: Warm, dry and smooth

Price and availability:

$49 (750mL). Sold online with shipping to eligible states, and at select Texas retailers starting in October. It is the fourth whiskey in Ghostwood’s core lineup, joining Original Blended Bourbon, Barrel Proof Black and Chardonnay Cask.
