Why does that name sound familiar? Well, he is related to George Garvin Brown and obviously knows a thing or two about whiskey. Now that we are up to speed on Altamar Brands. Let’s talk High N’ Wicked Single Grain Irish Whiskey Finished in Foursquare barrels – Mark x 2007. Single Grain Irish Whiskey is interesting. The whiskey can be a mixture of different grains. It can be malted or unmalted but must come from one distillery, hints the word “single” in the name.

  • Nose: Sweet rum funk, molasses, vanilla, fig, and mango puree. This nose transports you to the island of Barbados.
  • Palate: Vanilla, molasses, and sweet fruit meet your palate. As it fades to the back part of your palate the Irish Grain Whiskey shocks your palate to balance out the sweetness.
  • Finish: Lingering notes of vanilla, fig, and hint of grain.

Closing Thoughts

This is a wild pour! I didn’t know what to expect but I have to say I enjoyed it. While Single Grain Irish Whiskey isn’t probably my go to, I would go back to this one again and again! Looking for something new and unique to wake up your palate try High N’ Wicked Mark x 2007.
