Jack Daniel’s 10 Year Batch 002: A Quality Pour

To continue celebrating the release of our latest podcast featuring Jack Daniel’s, we bring you another a review! Today we focus on the slightly younger whiskey Jack Daniel’s 10 year-old Batch 002. While we didn’t get to try batch 001 I can’t wait to dive into as the 12 year-old is a front runner for my whiskey of the year 2023!

Just the Facts:

  • Proof: 97
  • Age: 10
  • Mash Bill: 80% Corn, 12% Malted Barley, 8% rye
  • Style: Tennessee Straight Whiskey
  • MSRP: $70.00

Jake’s Tasting Notes: Jack Daniel’s 10 Old Batch 002

Color:

Nose: Vanilla custard, cracked pepper, hints of citrus that are mellowed out by charred oak.

Palate: Just like the 12 year-old Whiskey, this 10 year-old whiskey is absent the traditional banana notes that have become infamous with Jack Daniel’s. This whiskey is vanilla and oak forward that coats the palate. Full of traditional bourbon flavors that are enhanced by the charcoal mellowing process.

Finish: Crème Burlee with a nice long finish

Closing Thoughts

This did not disappoint, it comes in at such an approachable proof point and carries an affordable price point. If I were to see this on the shelf it would be a must buy. It is a solid pour with good complexity and rich flavors!
