Jack Daniel’s Never Resting On Their Laurels With Newest Release

Jack Daniel’s American Single Malt Whiskey Review

We have been expecting news of this Jack Daniel’s American Single Malt Whiskey for months after we enjoyed the Triple Mash earlier in 2022.  Personally, I think it is truly amazing that these whiskey giants are continuing to push the limits on innovation.  During some of our most recent podcasts with Westland and Santa Fe Spirits, we have asked about their thoughts on the “whiskey giants” adopting American Single Malt Whiskey and they couldn’t be more excited.  All the more reason for us be excited to sit down to review this whiskey!

Just the Facts:

Proof: 105.7

Age: Undisclosed

Mash Bill:  100% Malted Barely

Style: American Single Malt Whiskey

Finished: Twice Finished In Oloroso Sherry Casks

MSRP: $70

Jake’s Tasting Notes: Jack Daniel’s American Single Malt Whiskey

Color: Red Orange

Nose: Vanilla, brown sugar, and a hint of milk chocolate

Palate: Very clean distillate and easy to drink.  The sherry gives a nice drying effect on the end.  The flavors include: walnuts, cherry, vanilla, oak, and then ends with dried fruit notes from the sherry cask.

Finish: Medium to long; you can really feel it on your palate for a good minute or two after you drink it.

Closing Thoughts

This is a very solid American Single Malt Whiskey.  I hope this becomes an annual release for Jack Daniel’s because it just gives more power to the movement that is happening in this category.  What I like about this category that every American Single Malt you drink is just a little different despite that they are all using the same 100% malted barley mashbill.
