Jake’s Tasting Notes: Jefferson’s Tropics
Nose: the nose lives up to its name; tropics. Notes of peach, apricot, caramel, vanilla for a bourbon is extremely approachable.
Palate: Very dry palate, oak tannin to start. After the second sip, it’s full of flavor such as apricot , chocolate, caramel.
Finish: the finish is jammy on the palate with hint of apricot and barrel tannin.
Closing Thoughts:
This is my favorite Jefferson’s pour to date. This is a fun ride and solid pour! A great way to celebrate Trey’s induction into the Kentucky Bourbon Hall of Fame.
About Jefferson’s Bourbon
Founded in 1997, Jefferson’s is the brainchild of Trey Zoeller and his father Chet, a famed bourbon historian. They were continuing a family whiskey tradition that goes back to Trey’s 8th generation grandmother who was arrested in 1799 for the “production and sales of spirituous liquors.” His curious and experimental mindset has allowed him to push the boundaries of bourbon whiskey. Upholding tradition, yet always discovering new possibilities.
