I have become a fan of Kavalan the Taiwanese whisky over the last several years as I have gotten more familiar with the Hotaling & Co. brand portfolio. Last year in our first ever Bourbon Lens blind tasting a Kavalan Whisky reigned supreme. How will Kavalan Whisky’s Triple Sherry Cask taste? Let’s find out.

Tasting notes: Kavalan Whisky – Triple Sherry Cask

Nose: Very jam like on the nose, raisin, berry, vanilla and pepper.

Palate: Light jam notes carry forward, raisin, raspberry, vanilla and black pepper.

Finish: Spicy finish, with lingering raisin and jam.

Closing Thoughts

This is one of the easiest drinking whisky’s I have had the pleasure of trying in a long time. It is rich and balanced on the palate and brings all the flavors you would expect in this triple sherry cask finish. If you can find this at retail, you may want to buy it!
