HYE, TEXAS (March 10, 2026) – Garrison Brothers Distillery, the first and oldest legal whiskey distillery in Texas, has officially unveiled the 2026 release of its award-winning Lady Bird Texas Straight Bourbon Whiskey. This year’s launch includes the return of the fan-favorite infusion and, for the first time, an ultra-limited Lady Bird Cask Strength Single Barrel edition.

The Release Event: Mark Your Calendars

The 2026 Lady Bird will debut at a special distillery event in Hye, Texas:

  • Date: Saturday, April 4, 2026
  • Time: 8:00 AM (First-come, first-served)
  • Availability: The first 2,000 bottles, including the rare Cask Strength Single Barrel, will be available exclusively at the distillery.

Following the event, a limited online release will occur on Monday, April 13, with nationwide distribution at select retailers beginning in May 2026.

A Bourbon with a Mission

Inspired by the legacy of Lady Bird Johnson, this expression honors her commitment to environmental conservation. Since its inception in 2023, Garrison Brothers has donated $5 from every bottle sold to the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center in Austin. To date, the partnership has raised over $100,000 to preserve North America’s native plants.

“Our Garrison Brothers Lady Bird bourbon continues to honor the legacy of Lady Bird Johnson, a dear friend of my family for many years, and the many gifts she gave us. We are honored to continue supporting special programs at the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center through this upcoming release. I’m especially excited for y’all to try this year’s Lady Bird Cask Strength,” shares Nancy Garrison, Co-founder of Garrison Brothers.

The Craftsmanship: Honey, Cognac, and Time

Master Distiller Donnis Todd crafts Lady Bird through an intricate multi-year process:

  1. Aged 4 years in new white American oak.
  2. Infused for 8-9 months with Burleson’s Texas Wildflower Honey.
  3. Finished for 3 years in French Cognac XO casks.

The 2026 Lady Bird is bottled at 114 proof and sealed in signature Prairie Purple wax.

“A harmonious marriage of honey and cognac flavors,” says Donnis Todd, Master Distiller. “The tasting experience begins with the aroma of freshly cut grass and sweet Texas honey, layered with subtle hints of black cocoa waffle cone and honey wafers. On the palate, warm buckwheat pancakes and dark chocolate-covered cherries mingle with malted milk balls, while the finish reveals notes of cognac-soaked cherries, dried figs, and plums.”
