The Last Drop Distillers Unveils 2025 Collection: A Trio of Ultra-Aged Whiskies

LOUISVILLE, KY (April 1, 2025)The Last Drop Distillers, renowned for curating the world’s most exceptional and rare spirits, proudly presents its Last Drop Distillers 2025 Collection. This year’s lineup features three ultra-aged whiskies from three of the world’s most prestigious whisky-producing regions:

  • Release No. 3727-Year-Old Kentucky Straight Bourbon from Buffalo Trace Distillery
  • Release No. 3855-Year-Old Single Malt Scotch from Tomintoul Distillery
  • Release No. 3922-Year-Old Japanese Blended Malt Whisky

The Last Drop Distillers 2025 Collection release showcases masterful aging techniques, expert blending craftsmanship, and a deep respect for whisky heritage.


Release No. 37: The Last Drop 27-Year-Old Kentucky Straight Bourbon

This 27-Year-Old Bourbon from Buffalo Trace Distillery is one of the oldest bourbons ever released by the World’s Most Award-Winning Distillery. Aged in three of Buffalo Trace’s oldest barrels—distilled in 1995, 1996, and 1997—this bourbon was expertly blended by Master Blender Drew Mayville and Master Distiller Harlen Wheatley.

  • Proof: 121.8 (60.9% ABV)
  • Availability: Only 508 bottles worldwide
  • Price: $10,500 (700ml + 50ml miniature)

  • Appearance: Bright bronze-gold, gleaming in the light.
  • Nose: Aromas of seasoned oak, cherry, and Medjool date, with layers of baking spices and dark fruit, complemented by a peppery rye influence.
  • Palate: Deep oak tannins, rich caramel sweetness, dark chocolate-dipped cherries, and hints of tobacco and leather.
  • Finish: Long, warming, and complex, with dried fruit, caramel, and tingling oak spice.

Release No. 38: The Last Drop 55-Year-Old Single Malt Scotch

Following the success of The Last Drop Release No. 36, this 55-Year-Old Single Malt Scotch from Tomintoul Distillery is a true rarity. It was distilled in April 1969 and aged in a combination of ex-sherry butts and refill sherry hogsheads before spending an additional two years in an ex-Matusalem Sherry butt, adding an extra layer of complexity.

  • Proof: 86.2 (43.1% ABV)
  • Availability: Only 430 bottles worldwide
  • Price: $6,950 (750ml)

  • Appearance: Deep amber with hints of dusky pink from extended aging.
  • Nose: Opulent red fruits, ripe peaches, toasted almonds, and warm toffee.
  • Palate: Juicy stone fruits, baking spices, grassy dryness, and liquorice sweetness, followed by notes of pineapple upside-down cake and caramel.
  • Finish: Smooth, rich, and complex, with a perfect balance of sweetness and spice.

Release No. 39: The Last Drop 22-Year-Old Japanese Blended Malt Whisky

This 22-Year-Old Japanese Blended Malt Whisky is a testament to the legacy of Hanyu Distillery, which closed in 2000. This whisky, crafted from 100% Japanese malt whiskies, was matured in two Mizunara oak casks, a highly sought-after wood known for its floral, herbal, and nutty characteristics.

  • Proof: 118.2 (59.1% ABV)
  • Availability: Only 319 bottles worldwide
  • Price: $5,500 (750ml)

  • Appearance: Rich deep gold.

This exceptionally rare Japanese whisky captures the essence of Hanyu’s legacy and the delicate complexity of Mizunara oak maturation.

Each bottle from the 2025 Collection is wax-sealed, individually numbered, and presented in a bespoke bottle suspended in an oak frame, housed within The Last Drop’s signature green case. Each package includes:

  • An engraved stopper cork
