Press Release
JARNAC, France (Oct. 15, 2024) — Maison Courvoisier, known as The Most Awarded Cognac House, has reopened following a multi-year restoration led by architectural and interior design agency Gilles & Boissier. This stunning transformation pays homage to Courvoisier’s nearly 200-year heritage, marrying history with modern artistry and craftsmanship. The Maison is situated in the heart of Jarnac along the Charente River. Its revitalized design celebrates the surrounding terroir and vineyards. It embodies the “Joie de Vivre” spirit that founder Félix Courvoisier envisioned for his brand.
The redesigned of the Maison boasts an array of art installations by renowned artists like Zoé Ouvrier and François Houtin. Each piece pays tribute to Courvoisier’s legacy. Key spaces include the sophisticated Bar Lounge. It is curated by historian Isabelle Vignon. There is also a Cognac Tasting Room. Additionally, a luxurious Dining Room is centered around a palissandro marble table. Each room reflects Courvoisier’s meticulous blending process. Gilles & Boissier extend their thoughtful touch from the warm, amber hues on hand-painted walls. It continues to a bench crafted from reclaimed cellar wood.
The Courvoisier range includes celebrated cognacs such as VS, VSOP, XO, and the Prestige Collection. Blends like XO Royal and L’Essence de Courvoisier embody Courvoisier’s distinctive “cognac in blossom” style. This floral, balanced taste makes Courvoisier ideal for sipping, pairing, or mixing in cocktails, like the signature Courvoisier Gala.
The Maison reopens this October, inviting guests to explore the heart of cognac craft. Limited tours and tastings, as well as exclusive overnight stays, will offer an immersive experience into the Maison’s heritage. The adjacent Visitor Center, open year-round, provides a unique opportunity to bottle cognac straight from the Master Blender’s barrels. This grand reopening not only revitalizes a historical landmark but also strengthens Courvoisier’s position as a global leader in fine cognac. For more, visit Courvoisier.com.
