Midwinter Night’s Dram has been delivered thanks to the High West Whiskey Saloon Society. I cannot tell you how much I have enjoyed the quarterly subscription service.  It is now time to sit down with what is one of my favorite yearly releases for review.

Style: Blend of straight rye whiskeys

Jake’s Tasting Notes: Midwinter Night’s Dram

Color: Copper

Nose: Wow, the nose is everything! Citrus, vanilla, with dried cherries and fig.  

Palate: The port shines front to the back, balancing out the citrus. The cherries, fig, and vanilla rounds out this pour.

Finish: Medium  

Closing Thoughts

In its 10th year, the team at High West Whiskey delivers one of the best Midwinter Night’s Drams to date.  They continue to produce some of my favorite whiskies and this one is getting entered into my whiskey of the year blind tasting!
