Award-Winning Flagship Bourbon Now Available Nationwide After Successful Tar Heel State Launch
Charlotte, North Carolina (April 28, 2025) – Oaklore Distilling Co., a trailblazer in North Carolina craft spirits, proudly announces the nationwide release of its flagship Oaklore Four Grain Bourbon. This exceptional whiskey captures the essence of North Carolina’s Piedmont region, showcasing the state’s ideal barrel-aging climate and Oaklore’s signature production style. Available in 42 states via www.oakloredistilling.com (powered by Speakeasy), the bourbon retails at $69.99 for a 750 ml bottle.
Honored with a Double Gold Medal at the 2024 Barleycorn Awards, Oaklore Four Grain Bourbon reflects the expertise of Co-Founder Thomas Bogan. Bogan hand-selects the finest barrels, batches them to perfection, and re-barrels the bourbon for additional aging, leveraging North Carolina’s humid, sub-tropical climate for a consistent and richly developed flavor profile.
“It’s tremendously rewarding to the team at Oaklore to see our flagship whiskey take the next steps in its evolution, as we become available nationwide. Being a craft spirits producer is not for the faint of heart, but we feel confident that our bourbon – which perfectly represents the great state of North Carolina – is emblematic of everyone’s desire to see smaller, regionally-produced American Whiskeys make a real go of it,” said Bogan.
Unlike other whiskey-producing regions, North Carolina’s Piedmont offers a stable, humid environment that minimizes temperature swings, ensuring a uniform aging process. This results in a bourbon with a complex, harmonious character and a smoother, richer taste.
Crafted at Oaklore’s sister distilleries in Kentucky and North Carolina, the Four Grain Bourbon is distilled using Vendome all-copper column stills and “the big four” grains: corn, wheat, barley, and rye. The final mash bill—72% corn, 11% wheat, 10% rye, and 7% malted barley—blends five- to six-year-old wheated and rye bourbon barrels, aged separately, then re-barreled for eight to twelve months in North Carolina’s Piedmont. Oaklore uses #2, #3, and #4 char level barrels from multiple cooperages to balance wood influence and flavor consistency.
Oaklore’s Four Grain Bourbon, bottled at 92 proof and non-chill filtered, is perfect for both novice whiskey drinkers and seasoned connoisseurs. Expect aromas of toasted pecans and honey butter cake, a silky palate of toffee and vanilla crème brûlée, and a lingering butterscotch finish with a hint of spice.
