Newport, KY (June 26, 2024) – New Riff Distilling proudly announces the release of the Headliner special edition bourbon to mark its 10th anniversary. The distillery will also host a 10-day lineup of events starting in July. Special Edition Release: Headliner
President Mollie Lewis expressed, “We asked our distilling team to create something truly special. Since our founding in 2014, we’ve focused on making exceptional, innovative whiskey while supporting our Northern Kentucky and Cincinnati community. This inaugural Headliner release is like bringing all your favorite artists together into one band. With proceeds from each bottle going to local charities, this whiskey is sure to earn a well-deserved encore.”
Key Features of Headliner
- Blend and Mashbill: Headliner is bottled at barrel proof and comprises 45% 10-year-old bourbon, 20% 9-year-old bourbon, 30% 9-year-old rye, and 5% 7-year-old single malt whiskey. This blend reflects New Riff’s flagship bourbon mashbill of 65% corn, 30% rye, and 5% malted barley, offering a rich balance of rye spice, warmth from extra aging, and dark fruit notes.
- Charitable Contributions: Half of the proceeds from each bottle will support three local charities: Brighton Center, Green Umbrella, and Horizon Community Funds.
- Limited Availability: Only 700 bottles will be released via a lottery system. Entries cost $5, donated to the nonprofits, and each entry includes a $5 gift certificate to The Aquifer, New Riff’s tasting room and cocktail bar. Lottery winners will be notified on July 8, with bottle pickup starting July 11. Headliner will retail for $250 per bottle, with $125 donated to the designated charities.
Unique Label Design and Collaborations
The Headliner label, inspired by classic concert posters, was designed and hand-screen printed by Cincinnati companies Dewhaus and DIY Printing, with additional printing from Otto’s Printing and Steinhauser.
Commemorative Beer: Aqui Brew
New Riff is collaborating with HighGrain Brewing to produce Aqui Brew, a commemorative beer brewed with water from the distillery’s aquifer and the same corn used in New Riff whiskey. Available at The Aquifer Tasting Room, HighGrain locations, select bars, restaurants, and retailers in Northern Kentucky and Cincinnati.
10-Day Celebration Events
From July 11-21, New Riff will host various celebratory events, including:
- Gift shop discounts and limited-edition merchandise
- Cocktail specials at The Aquifer
- Live music and on-site food partners
- Daily surprise bottle offerings from past releases
- Nonprofit partner highlight evenings
