I am not here to start a fight! But I will tell you that Old Fitzgerald Bottled In Bond Fall 2018 changed for me! This is a pour I once hated but am excited to revisit it been quite good since the first pour! Let’s dive into this whiskey!

- Mashbill: 68% corn, 20% wheat, 12% malted barely
- Age: 9 years
- Style: Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey
- Price: I believe I paid $159.99
Jake’s Tasting Notes: Old Fitzgerald Bottled In Bond Fall 2018
Nose: Oak, toffee, pipe tobacco, slight hint of orange oil and cinnamon sugar.
Palate: Rich notes of chocolate, oak, vanilla. When going back for a second sip you are met with more of the sweet flavors of cinnamon sugar and citrus oils.
Finish: Very long drying finish of oak and chocolate with lingering walnut.
Bourbon Lens Closing thoughts
Old Fitzgerald Bottled In Bond Fall 2018 once was a pass. However, after the bottle has opened up it is one of my favorites! While you may not be able to find a bottle anymore, if its on a bar back grab a pour!
About Old Fitzgerald
Each spring and fall, a new edition to the Old Fitzgerald Bottled-in-Bond series is released. Inspired by an original 1950’s Old Fitzgerald diamond decanter, the packaging and series honor both the history of the Old Fitzgerald brand and the historic Bottled-in-Bond designation. The Old Fitzgerald line is well-known for its distilling pedigree, as the brand was first registered in 1884 and was eventually sold to “Pappy” Van Winkle during Prohibition. In 1999, Heaven Hill bought the brand and began distilling it at Bernheim Distillery in Louisville, KY. Today, in addition to our Old Fitzgerald Decanter Series, the legacy of Old Fitzgerald lives on in our other wheated Bourbons expressions: Larceny Small Batch and Larceny Barrel Proof.
