Remembering Grizzly 399
An icon of the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem, Grizzly 399 drew photographers and visitors from around the world for nearly three decades. At 28 years old, she was the region’s oldest known reproducing female grizzly. She spent much of her life near the Snake River and raised 18 known cubs.
“It’s been two years and people still stop us to talk about 399. She belonged to this place. This bottle keeps her story alive, and carries it to those who never got to see her,” said Wyoming Whiskey co-founder David DeFazio.
Tied to the Film 399 Forever
The release is aligned with 399 Forever, a documentary directed by Alex Stavrou about the final year of Grizzly 399’s life and the community that formed around her. The film will be available on demand on Amazon Prime Video on Oct. 16. Wyoming Whiskey is supporting the film to help carry her story to a wider audience.
Supporting Conservation
Wyoming Whiskey will donate $5 from every bottle sold to the Grand Teton National Park Foundation to support grizzly bear education, conservation and research programs in Grand Teton National Park.
The Bottle
The label features two images of Grizzly 399: one on the front by photographer Savannah Rose and one on the back by Thomas Mangelsen.
