New Rolling Fork Rare Cask Rums in Time for National Rum Day

LOUISVILLE, KY (August 6, 2024) – Just in time for National Rum Day on August 16, Rolling Fork, the Indiana-based producer of award-winning rums, is excited to announce the release of two new Rolling Fork Rare casks rums. These rare bottles, distilled in Venezuela and Fiji, are now available exclusively through Rolling Fork’s online portal, making them a must-have for rum enthusiasts and collectors alike.

Rolling Fork Rare Casks Limited Quantities, Exceptional Quality

Rolling Fork’s latest offerings include a 5-year-old rum distilled in Venezuela and a 14-year-old rum distilled in Fiji. With only 114 bottles of the Venezuelan rum priced at $55 each, and a mere 60 bottles of the Fijian rum available for $125 each, these releases are sure to sell out quickly.

“This is a unique flash-sale kind of release,” says Rolling Fork Co-Founder Turner Wathen. “We love being able to make these rare, single-cask rums available to customers through our online sales portal. These two bottles represent our sweet spot: single-cask, aged rums that were matched to hand-selected ex-bourbon casks for secondary aging. We think they both turned out really beautifully and will go fast.”

The Art of Secondary Aging

The 5-year-old Venezuelan rum and the 14-year-old Fijian rum were both aged in wheated bourbon casks during their secondary maturation. This meticulous process has imparted distinctive flavors to each rum, creating a smooth and complex profile that stands out from the crowd.

“The wheat softens the texture and complexity without overwhelming the rum, intensifying all of the flavors,” explains Co-Founder Jordan Morris. “These are great sippers, and I’d even recommend the 5-year-old rum distilled in Venezuela in a cocktail, like a Gold Rush or Boulevardier.”

Rolling Fork’s Rising Reputation

Founded in 2017 by Turner Wathen and Jordan Morris, Rolling Fork Spirits has quickly gained a reputation for excellence in the rum world. As independent blenders and bottlers, Rolling Fork specializes in creating unique expressions of rum without additives. Their dedication to quality has been recognized by some of the most prestigious spirits competitions, including the ASCOT Awards, San Francisco World Spirits Competition, and Barleycorn Awards.

Rolling Fork’s Lost Cask 15-Year-Old Jamaica Rum was named Best Rum in the 2024 Barleycorn Awards, and the brand was also honored as Independent Bottler of the Year in the 2023 ASCOT Awards. These accolades are a testament to Rolling Fork’s commitment to producing the finest rums.

Where to Buy

Both the 5-year-old Venezuelan rum and the 14-year-old Fijian rum are available for purchase exclusively online at Rolling Fork’s website. Given the limited quantities, rum aficionados are encouraged to act quickly to secure their bottles.
