Tasting notes: Frey Ranch Smoked American Single Malt

Nose: Toasted grain, a hit of pit fire, chocolate and marsh mellow

Palate: toasted almond, marsh mellow, dark fruits of cherry and plum. Gives it almost a finished feel from a flavor profile. The kiss of smoke is very appetizing and makes this whiskey very approachable than maybe an Islay Scotch.

Finish: Subtle smoke, chocolate and graham cracker.

Closing Thoughts

Frey Ranch has crushed this American Single Malt. I didn’t know how I would feel about the smoked part but it really elevates the whiskey and provides the balance it needs from nose to finish.
