RED HOOK, BROOKLYN, NY (September 16, 2024) – Widow Jane Distillery is a renowned craft distillery in Red Hook, Brooklyn. It is led by head distiller and blender Sienna Jevremov. The distillery is excited to announce the release of The Vaults 2024. This highly anticipated release is part of the brand’s annual series. It showcases a luxurious blend of 15-year-old whiskey finished in Amburana wood casks. This limited-edition whiskey will be available starting in October 2024.

The Vaults 2024: A Masterpiece of Whiskey & Amburana Casks

Since 2019, Widow Jane has sourced unique wood casks to finish their Vaults series. The Vaults 2024 was meticulously crafted from Widow Jane’s oldest and rarest whiskey barrels. Jevremov and her blending team carefully selected them. These select barrels were blended in hyper-small batches. They were then finished in Amburana wood casks. These casks are known for imparting rich, exotic flavors like warm spices. They also add floral and tropical notes.

Amburana wood, also known as ‘Brazilian oak,’ grows in the dry jungles of Brazil and Argentina, in environments with nutrient-poor soil and irregular rainfall, which slows the growth of the trees, making this wood extremely rare.

Head Blender Sienna Jevremov on The Vaults 2024

“The Vaults 2023 was my first big project as head blender,” said Jevremov. “This year, I wanted to push boundaries by introducing Amburana, a bold wood with rich aromatics, to the blend. I created a blend from 15- and 20-year-old whiskeys that highlights earthy and robust qualities, carefully balancing them with the exotic Amburana flavors.”
