ROSSELLE, N.J. (July 10, 2024) – Penelope Bourbon proudly announces the second release in its annual Straight Rye Whiskey Toasted Series. Building on the success of last year’s inaugural release, which earned a stellar 99 points and a Double Gold at the 2024 San Francisco World Spirits Competition, this year’s expression promises to impress whiskey enthusiasts and connoisseurs alike.

This special edition, Penelope Toasted Rye Whiskey (Batch 24-304), features a unique 95% rye and 5% malted barley mash bill, finished in freshly toasted barrels. Now available on shelves, this limited release includes 9,000 (6-in) cases, with a suggested retail price of $74.99 per 750mL bottle.

Michael Paladini, founder of Penelope Bourbon, shared his excitement: “After what we achieved with last year’s release, we are really excited for our second installment. Our first Toasted Rye scored 99 points at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition, and we’re confident this release will be equally well received.”

Penelope Toasted Rye Whiskey boasts a complex aroma with bold, sweet butterscotch, complemented by vanilla and toasted marshmallow, balanced with hints of light tobacco and fruit. The long finish features a sweet dessert character with notes of orange peel and subtle spice, making it a standout rye whiskey.

Daniel Polise, founder and master blender of Penelope Bourbon, added: “After aging the rye whiskey for six years prior to finishing, this year’s release resulted in a profile that we believe will really stand out. The char 2 profile of the finishing barrels brought out rich butterscotch notes, adding additional layers and depth to a great rye whiskey.”
