Bourbon Heritage Month Day 30
As we close out Bourbon Heritage Month I would like to say what a month. From Kentucky Bourbon Festival to the birth of my daughter spending time sharing thoughts about 30 different bourbons every day has been a pleasure. For the final review we will look at Weller Full Proof on a day in where Kentucky beat Florida for the third time in a row we have to Rock Kentucky Blue like Drake said.
Just the facts: Weller Full Proof
- Style: Kentucky Straight Wheated Bourbon
- Mashbill: Undisclosed
- Proof: 114
- Age: Undisclosed
- Price: $89.99
Jake’s tasting notes: Weller Full Proof
Nose: Butterscotch, lemon peel, cream cheese and cherry. This smells like an amazing cheesecake and is making me hungry as I write this review.
Palate: The first sip is oak, cherry, lemon for a robust flavor. The second sip opens up more to a creamy mouthfeel and rich notes of cream cheese and butterscotch.
Finish: Medium finish of oak and cherry for a sweet and savory ending.
Closing thoughts
This store pick from Liquor Barn is one I have kept near and dear as it was just a tasty pour. It looks like I might be pouring this more frequently as this is a tasty pour!
About W.L Weller
A wheated bourbon with a full-bodied flavor and a balanced palate. Old Weller Antique is bottled at 107 proof, offering a complex taste and bold finish. It’s certainly a recognizable member of the Weller label, with its own unique characteristics to compliment the high proof.
