- 60% American Whiskey – 84% corn, 8% rye, 8% malted barley – finished in used cooperage
- 36% Canadian Rye – 53% rye, 39% corn, 8% malted barley – finished in Tawny, Oloroso Sherry and Vermouth barrels

Tasting Notes: Whiskey JYPSI Legacy Batch 002

Nose: Warm butterscotch meets your nose but the star of the nosing experience is the grain and the woody / perfumed characteristics of the blend.

Palate: Warm baking spices meet you on the first sip: clove, nutmeg and cinnamon. It is followed by vanilla and hints of plum from the Sherry cask finishing of the rye whiskey. Lastly, the complex tannins emerge, showing the age of this blend.

Finish: Subtle smoke with lingering chocolate.

Closing Thoughts:

Say what you want about “Celebrity Whiskey”, but this team is putting out good whiskey. Whiskey JYPSI Legacy Batch 002 might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but it speaks to the outsiders mindset that Eric Church has continued to build through his brand of music and, now, his brand of whiskey.
