Eric Church’s New Whiskey JYPSI Takes You On A Journey

I sat down and turned on Eric Church to get into the Whiskey JYSPI review writing mood.  However, before I could get into actually enjoying the whiskey, my brain recalled a fond story from the summer before my Freshman year of college. Locally, in Louisville, they used to have a series called Hot Summer Nights on 4th Street Live.  A group of my buddies Marcus, Aaron, Patrick and Chris headed down on a Wednesday night to see Eric Church in concert.  Eric had just released the Sinner’s Like Me album, which was on heavy rotation for all of us at the time. The best part of the evening was when he came back to encore with Metallica.  He took us all on an exploration of music and storytelling. That is right where this whiskey picks up:

Jake Tasting Notes for Whiskey JYPSI – The Journey Batch 001

Nose: baking spices, nutmeg, cinnamon, dark bitter chocolate, apples and peaches.

Palate: The palate is vibrant with depth of flavor. Layers of orchard fruit dusted with cinnamon, which fades to chocolate and hints of lime. As I continue to drink, the bready notes start to come through at the end.

Finish: Long, with notes of Key Lime Pie with Chocolate Drizzle.

Closing Thoughts:

This whiskey takes you on a wild ride and it is full of great flavor.  It has rebellious characteristics, just like Eric, and bucks the trend of a traditional blended whiskey.  If you are looking for something new and unique, Whiskey JYPSI is one to pick up! I signed up for the opportunity to grab a bottle!
