The six-year-old, 98-proof straight bourbon honors the nation’s semiquincentennial and the independent spirit of the American West, with an SRP of $79.99.

KIRBY, Wyo. — Wyoming Whiskey, the state’s first legal distillery, has introduced State of the Union, a limited-edition straight bourbon whiskey created to commemorate the 250th anniversary of American independence. The release draws on the grit and self-reliance that have shaped the country over two and a half centuries, tying that history to the character of the American West.

2026 marks 250 years since the signing of the Declaration of Independence — a union of states that expanded westward over generations of people willing to build, endure, and stand their ground. Wyoming joined that union in 1890 as the 44th state, shaped by wide-open spaces, rugged terrain, and a culture built on self-reliance. State of the Union is Wyoming Whiskey’s tribute to that legacy.

“This anniversary is an opportunity to reflect on what endures—the land, the people, and the spirit of independence that continues to define America,” says Wyoming Whiskey Co-Founder David DeFazio. “State of the Union is our way of raising a glass to that shared history and the values that helped shape the West.”

Tasting Notes

Aged six years and bottled at 98 proof, State of the Union opens with aromas of raspberry and soft lemon, rounded out by a touch of sweet tea. On the palate, notes of peaches and raspberries layer with white chocolate and brown sugar, leading to a finish marked by candied ginger and cherry, balanced by smooth milk chocolate.
