While sipping Yellowstone Bourbon Rum Cask, I couldn’t quite pinpoint what I was experiencing. Finished whiskeys often have complex profiles, and this one left me uncertain. Tasting Notes: Yellowstone Bourbon Special Finish Collection Rum Cask
Nose: Very fruity on the nose, balanced by corn sweetness and vanilla.
Palate: Very nice hit of traditional bourbon followed by tropical fruit of coconut, cherry and vanilla. With hints of molasses and nutmeg.
Finish: Touch of molasses and vanilla.
Closing Thoughts
Yellowstone Bourbon has a unique way of finishing whiskey which I truly appreciate. It has a nice balance of natural spirit with the hints of the finishing cask. This is great pour for the summer with a giant ice cube. Do you like this rum cask-finished bourbon?
