Chattanooga, TN (July 2024) – Chattanooga Whiskey proudly unveils the latest release in their Bottled in Bond Vintage Series: Spring 2020, a seasonally-inspired vintage crafted from January to June 2020 to highlight the lighter spring and summer flavors from multiple wheated mash bills. This release marks the seventh blend since 2021 and was produced exclusively at Chattanooga Whiskey’s Riverfront Distillery through a collaborative effort from the entire distilling team.

Grant McCracken, Founding Distiller, on the New Vintage

“Each distilling season, our entire grain-to-glass production team comes together to develop our newest Bottled in Bond vintage. Rather than solely using our signature ‘Barrel 91’ recipe, the team gathers every unique mash bill distilled in the 6-month season and develops a blend to reflect the character of that time period,” said Grant McCracken, Founding Distiller. The Spring 2020 blend includes three versions of their acclaimed wheated recipe (B005, B005v2, B005v3), featuring Tennessee-grown malted wheat, honey malted barley, and cherrywood smoked malted barley. Details on Chattanooga Whiskey’s mash bills are available at Chattanooga Whiskey Mash Bills.

Innovation at Chattanooga Whiskey

“Although most of our distilling team’s experimentation originates at our Experimental Distillery, we’ve never been afraid to make tweaks to certain recipes on the larger scale of our Riverfront Distillery. These more nuanced experiments not only provide the team with a deeper understanding of how our classic recipes ‘work’ within our Riverfront Distillery, but – as a finished product – become a time capsule of what our team was thinking about 4+ years ago,” added McCracken. Crafted in four batches of 10 barrels each, this limited release offers notes of candied ginger, vanilla custard, orange blossom honey, and muddled mint, with a fresh oak finish.
