We are all familiar with the name MGP by now but are we familiar with all the whiskies they are putting out that aren’t going into other people’s bottles? The annual release of Remus Repeal Reserve is here, and no one is talking about it. They should be paying attention to this great bottle of whiskey hitting shelves across the country at an affordable prize.

Jake’s Tasting Notes: Remus Reserve Repeal Batch 6: Learn More Here
Color: Burnt Orange
Nose: The rye spice is the first thing you notice on the nose of this bourbon; it is super bright with notes of citrus and white pepper. The caramel and oak shine though those flavors as the bourbon airs out.
Palate: Surprisingly it doesn’t drink as spicy as it smells which is nice. It is soft on the palate which means the blend is just about right when it comes to melding all the flavors together. I really enjoy the subtlety of this bourbon. There are notes of vanilla, caramel, oak which you would expect but the darker jam type notes are their fig or blackberry.
Finish: Solid finish, not over powering but gives you waves of flavor.
Closing Thoughts
This bourbon again impresses with Remus Repeal Reserve Batch 6. Ross and Squibb will continue to garner support from me if they continue to put out bourbons like this one. I am on the lookout for the Rossville Union big brother like this is Remus Repeal.
Scott talks about this bourbon on one of our latest podcasts found here.
