Owensboro, Ky. (June 4, 2024) – Green River Distilling Co. is expanding its offerings this summer with the introduction of Green River Full Proof Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey. This new release is a robust, full-bodied expression of the brand’s flagship bourbon, crafted from a blend of five-to-seven-year barrels selected from Green River’s Owensboro tile warehouses.

Green River Full Proof features the same mash bill as Green River Kentucky Straight Bourbon, with a high rye percentage that provides a spicy backbone, balanced by the sweetness of corn and barley. The bourbon is characterized by flavors of warming spice, vanilla, caramel, and chocolate-coated peppermints, with aromatic notes of cinnamon, dried cherry, and light leather. It has a deep golden amber color and a rich, lingering mouthfeel.

“Full Proof bottlings are custom blends of barrels selected from our favorite parts of the rickhouses and hand selected for their quality,” said Dan Callaway, VP of Product Development for Green River Distilling Co. “What I love about full proof expressions is that you are in control of the proof – taste at full-bodied strength and adjust to your preferences.”

The initial batch of Green River Full Proof is bottled at 117.3 proof (58.65% ABV) and is priced at $49.99. It joins Green River’s existing lineup of Bourbon, Wheated Bourbon, and Rye. Previously, full proof single barrels were only available for purchase by the barrel.

To celebrate the launch, Green River Distilling Co. will host a special event on June 7, 2024. Bottle sales will begin at 9 a.m., followed by VIP tours at 3 and 5 p.m. led by Head Distiller Aaron Harris and National Brand Ambassador Caryn Wells. The community is invited to the distillery from 4 – 6 p.m. for music, food, and cocktails featuring the new release. Tours and tastings can be booked online at greenriverwhiskey.com.

Green River Distilling Co., the 10th oldest licensed distillery in Kentucky, was acquired by Bardstown Bourbon Company in July 2022. Last year, the brand expanded within the U.S. and began exporting to Australia. This year, Green River will be available in eight new markets including Nevada, Arizona, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Washington, Pennsylvania, Minnesota, and Massachusetts, with plans for nationwide distribution in the coming years.
