Lynchburg, Tennessee (July 16, 2024) – The renowned Jack Daniel Distillery proudly announces Distillery Series Selection #13, a Tennessee Straight Rye Whiskey that is uniquely twice barreled in new, charred American white oak barrels. This latest addition to Jack Daniel’s innovative line of experimental whiskeys promises a rich, complex profile for rye whiskey enthusiasts.
A Distinctive Grain Bill and Charcoal Mellowing Process
Staying true to Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Rye Whiskeys, this limited-edition expression features a distinctive grain bill of 70% rye, 12% malted barley, and 18% corn. The whiskey undergoes a unique charcoal mellowing process before its initial maturation in a new, charred American white oak barrel. This is followed by an additional aging period of two and a half years in a second new, charred American white oak barrel.
Master Distiller Chris Fletcher explains, “Our Tennessee Rye is a take on rye whiskey that is uniquely Jack Daniel’s. The 70% rye grain bill allows the whiskey to shine through with just the right amount of spiciness and boldness. We’re excited to add a limited-edition expression to our rye lineup with this release, which introduces the whiskey to a second barreling to create a profile with even more depth and character.”
