Dry Fly Distilling Expands National Footprint with New Strategic Partnership

Spokane, WA (August 13, 2024) — Dry Fly Distilling, a pioneer in the Pacific Northwest’s craft spirits scene since 2007, is poised for significant growth with its latest strategic partnership. Charlie Wagner, of the esteemed Caymus Vineyards and Wagner Family of Wine, has acquired a majority interest in Dry Fly Distilling Inc., marking a new era for the Spokane-based distillery as it aims to increase its presence across the United States.

A New Chapter for Dry Fly Distilling

With its products now available in 35 states, Dry Fly is set to expand even further, thanks to the Wagner family’s deep industry expertise and shared passion for quality. Charlie Wagner’s involvement with Dry Fly began over a decade ago when they collaborated on crafting a wheat-based whiskey aged in Caymus wine barrels. This unique project highlighted the synergy between the two brands, leading to Wagner’s decision to take a larger stake in the company.

“While my primary focus is making wine, it’s been thrilling over the past decade to work with Dry Fly on one of my favorite projects,” said Charlie Wagner. “Now we are taking our collaboration to the next level. Assuming a bigger stake in the company speaks to my excitement over Dry Fly’s vision, passion, and expertise, and its ability to make products that truly stand out in the market.”

Leadership Changes and Future Plans

This partnership brings exciting changes to Dry Fly’s leadership team. Patrick Donovan, the company’s first employee, will step into the role of President. With his extensive knowledge and deep love for Dry Fly’s products, Donovan is well-positioned to lead the company into its next phase of growth. Additionally, Dry Fly has appointed Donald Kidd as the new National Vice President of Sales and Marketing. Kidd brings 30 years of industry experience, including senior leadership roles at Hood River Distillers/Pendleton Whiskey and Southern Champion/BuzzBallz.

The collaboration between Dry Fly and the Wagner family is expected to yield even more innovative products, including a highly anticipated whiskey finished in Caymus Special Selection wine barrels, set for release next year.
