Nashville, IN (August 29, 2024) — Hard Truth Distilling Co. is set to auction an exclusive release of its Grounded in Truth Straight Rye Whiskey, aged in the world’s smallest floating rackhouse, with all proceeds benefiting Farm Aid. This one-of-a-kind whiskey supports sustainable family farming across America.
A Unique Aging Process
For over three years, visitors to Hard Truth Distilling Co. have been intrigued by a single barrel floating on the pond at the distillery. This floating rackhouse, despite its small size, is federally bonded and registered, adhering to the same regulations as Hard Truth’s other rackhouses.
Master Distiller Bryan Smith explains, “The unique aging environment, combined with the movement of the waves and seasonal shifts, has resulted in a whiskey with a distinctive flavor profile that connects the natural world to the spirit within.”
Supporting Farm Aid’s Mission
The floating barrel will yield approximately 100 bottles of Grounded in Truth Straight Rye Whiskey. Most bottles will be auctioned through bourbon societies and partners, with 100% of sales going to Farm Aid. This initiative aligns with Hard Truth’s commitment to supporting small, independent, and heritage farmers through its Grounded in Truth campaign.

Farm Aid’s mission to support family-centered agriculture in America has raised nearly $80 million over the past 35 years, thanks to the efforts of artists like Willie Nelson, Neil Young, and John Mellencamp.
