LOUISVILLE, KY (October 9, 2024) – Myers’s Rum, the iconic Jamaican rum with over 140 years of tradition, is unveiling two new premium rum collections. These are the Signature Legends Collection and the Signature Cask Collection. These releases are designed to honor the brand’s commitment to craftsmanship, quality, and the artistry of blending fine aged rums.
Introducing the Myers’s Rum Signature Legends Collection
The inaugural bottle in the Signature Legends Collection, known as “Legacy Blend #1,” is a collaboration between Myers’s Master Blender Drew Mayville and renowned Master Blender Richard Seale of Foursquare Rum. This blend harmonizes Myers’s Jamaican heritage with Barbados’s refined rum traditions, resulting in a full-bodied, tropical rum experience. At 94 proof, Legacy Blend #1 offers aromatic notes of ripe bananas, pineapple, molasses, and dark sugar, paired with a smooth, rich mouthfeel accented by hints of clove, earthiness, and a subtle smokiness.
Myers’s Rum Signature Cask Collection – Aged to Perfection in Buffalo Trace Antique Collection Barrels
The Signature Cask Collection comprises five aged rums. They are finished in barrels previously used to mature iconic Buffalo Trace Antique Collection (BTAC) whiskeys. Each of these unique expressions infuses Myers’s Original Dark Rum with nuanced flavors from barrels that once aged renowned whiskeys like George T. Stagg, William Larue Weller, Sazerac Rye 18 Year Old, Thomas H. Handy Sazerac Rye, and Eagle Rare 17 Year Old. Each rum is bottled at a unique proof to highlight the barrel’s influence, from oak and bourbon to complex spices.
Signature Cask Collection Highlights:
- Finished in George T. Stagg Barrels: Bold and complex with dark molasses, leather, and charred oak at 100 proof.
- Finished in William Larue Weller Barrels: Balanced notes of butterscotch, brown sugar, and vanilla at 83 proof.
- Finished in Sazerac Rye 18 Year Old Barrels: Features rye spice and tropical notes with a subtle peppery finish at 86 proof.
- Finished in Thomas H. Handy Sazerac Rye Barrels: Blends rye spice with banana and tropical fruit for a layered profile at 84.5 proof.
- Finished in Eagle Rare 17 Year Old Barrels: Smooth with hints of baking spices, dark chocolate, and vanilla at 86 proof.
