LONDON, ENGLAND, February 17, 2025Compass Box Scotch Whisky continues its tradition of innovation with the release of Hedonism 2025 Limited Annual Release, a blended grain Scotch whisky that elevates the brand’s legacy through both whisky craftsmanship and artistic collaboration. Featuring a new 46% ABV expression with single grains from Cameronbridge and Girvan distilleries, this year’s edition introduces an artistic partnership with Argentinian artist Sofia Bonati, who reimagines the iconic Hedonism woman for 2025.

When Compass Box first launched Hedonism in 2000, it became the first-ever blended grain Scotch whisky on the market, setting a new standard for creativity in the whisky world. Now, as a Limited Annual Release, the whisky evolves each year—both in its artistic identity and in its distinct flavor profile.

“One of the exciting things about Hedonism becoming a Limited Annual Release is that we not only get to collaborate with a different artist each year to put a new stamp on the label, but it also gives us the opportunity to explore a twist on the whisky itself,” says Whiskymaking Director James Saxon. “The 2025 release is unmistakably Hedonism in style and texture, but with the addition of one ex-Marsala barrique and some casks of previous batches, we push the flavors into new territories.”

This year’s edition will be available starting March 1, 2025, in markets worldwide, with 9,912 bottles released at an SRP of $150 (700ml, 46% ABV).

A Unique Flavor Experience

Crafted with a base of Cameronbridge single grain whisky, which has been further matured for two years in a first-fill Marsala barrique, Hedonism 2025 opens with waves of caramel, unfolding into notes of peach purée, cocoa, and pear on the nose. The palate delivers chocolate mousse and nutmeg-inflected custard, while the finish evolves into white grape, Fuji apple, and vanilla. The recipe also includes single grain whisky from Girvan Distillery and aged components from past Hedonism iterations (16- and 19-year-old stocks).

The Art of Hedonism 2025

To celebrate Hedonism’s history—being the first Scotch whisky to feature a female figure on its label—Compass Box commissions a different female artist each year to reinterpret the original Hedonism woman.

For 2025, Sofia Bonati, a renowned Argentinian artist, brings her distinctive dreamlike portraiture to the label. Inspired by magnetic fields, Bonati’s design mirrors both the elegance and strength of the whisky itself, with intricate details and a commanding gaze that reimagines the original Hedonism woman in a new, empowering light.

“The way that Sofia has captured the essence of the original Hedonism woman in her own style is incredible,” says Assistant Whiskymaker Michael Stephenson. “She represented the unique elements of this edition’s recipe and taste profile through color that really draws the eye. I can’t wait to see this out in the world and for people to taste it.”

Additionally, acclaimed photographer Helen Murray—whose work has been featured in The New York Times, VOGUE, Vanity Fair, and The Sunday Times—has been enlisted to capture this year’s Hedonism release through her lens.
