Bourbon Legend, Al Young, Has Passed Away

There is sad news in the Bourbon World today, as we’ve learned that Al Young passed away on December 25, 2019. His daughter, Christine, announced his passing on Facebook.

Al Young served in a variety of roles at Four Roses for 52 years. In 1990, he became Distillery Manager and was named Four Roses Brand Ambassador in 2007.

Young is the historian for Four Roses, the 131-year-old Kentucky Bourbon brand and wrote the book Four Roses: The Return of a Whiskey Legend, which was published in 2010. Young was inducted into the Whisky Magazine Hall of Fame in 2015 and is a member of the Kentucky Distillers’ Association Kentucky Bourbon Hall of Fame. Most recently, Young served as Senior Brand Ambassador for Four Roses Bourbon.
