Scott’s Tasting Notes: Art of Alchemy Blend No. 2

Nose: lavender, smokey, roasted nuts, woodiness, and savory herbal notes.

Palate: the whiskey travels nicely across your palate; spice up front, but with lingering rich sweetness. Nuttiness, toasted coconut, and almond.

Finish: sweet heat that lingers and leaves you with a dark chocolate drying effect.

Closing Thoughts

Art of Alchemy is a fun brand that is leveraging some unique stocks of whiskey to create balanced whiskeys that should have broad appeal. Art of Alchemy Blend No. 2 is no exception and is a unique blend of bourbon and rye that should appeal to the spice-seeking bourbon drinker. Going back to this one in a nearly empty glass had me thinking I had just enjoyed a candy bar with caramel, nuts, and coconut flakes. The aromas were very familiar and definitely enjoyable. We appreciate Art of Alchemy for joining us for a podcast and for providing us samples of their whiskies for review.

Editor’s Note: The whiskey featured in this review was provided to Bourbon Lens as a review sample by the brand. We appreciate the opportunity to taste this whiskey with no strings attached.
