Independent Blender Consolidates Operations to Support Long-Term Growth
Barrell Craft Spirits® (BCS) announced the sale of its blending and bottling facility in Jeffersontown, Kentucky, to American Craft Bottling. The transaction, completed January 30, 2026, reflects a strategic shift as the award-winning independent blender adapts its operations to meet future market needs. Financial terms of the sale were not disclosed. The 31,000 Sq Ft facility opened in September 2023 and features 8 blending tanks (64,000 total gallons), a bottling line with a 1 million bottle annual capacity, and large office space.
Founded in 2013, Barrell Craft Spirits is known for producing unique, aged, cask-strength whiskey through an independent blending model. According to the company, the decision to sell the Jeffersontown facility aligns with broader efforts to refine its commercial strategy amid ongoing economic pressures across the spirits industry.
Strategic Consolidation at Gilmore Facility
Following the sale, BCS will consolidate all blending operations at its original Gilmore facility, which the company says has sufficient capacity to support both current production and future growth. Barrell Craft Spirits also plans to invest in new equipment and technology to expand operations without disrupting existing workflows.
“We regularly refine our commercial strategy to stay ahead of evolving industry trends to support long-term growth,” said Joe Beatrice, Founder of Barrell Craft Spirits. “While the economic environment has presented challenges across the spirits industry, it has sharpened our focus and reinforced the importance of proactive decision-making.”
Continued Focus on Innovation and Product Development
Despite the operational changes, Barrell Craft Spirits emphasized that its commitment to innovation and creative blending remains unchanged. The company plans to continue releasing new products throughout 2026 and beyond.
“We’re grateful to our loyal fans and whiskey enthusiasts who have continued to support us with each release,” Beatrice added. “We plan to continue bringing you the most innovative, creative, and complex products our industry has to offer in 2026 and beyond.”
