Barrell Craft Spirits (BCS) has released a 22-year-old Sweet Peat Whiskey as part of its Black Label Series. It blends Canadian whisky with Speyside single malt Scotch, finished in toasted Jamaican rum casks and Islay whisky casks. It’s bottled at 142.34 proof (71.17% ABV) for a suggested $199.99 per 750 mL.

The whiskies were distilled in Canada and Scotland and aged for 22 years. They were then finished in Kentucky. The smoke comes from the Islay casks rather than peated malt, so this is a gentler, sweeter take on peat.

“The BCS Black Label Series takes us back to our roots of creating highly unique whiskeys in extremely limited quantities and showcasing cutting edge blending techniques which set us apart from the crowd,” said BCS Founder Joe Beatrice. “Sweet Peat not only blends two single malt Speyside scotch whiskies with Canadian whiskey, but this expression also features two unusual finishing casks.”
