The Classic, Small Batch Bourbon Returns with Iconic Packaging and Age Statement
Basil Hayden has announced the limited return of the Basil Hayden 8-Year-Old “Bibbed” Bourbon, set to be available at the James B. Beam Distilling Co.’s American Outpost beginning February 14 at 9:00 a.m. EST. The re-release pays tribute to Booker Noe’s original 1992 vision for the brand and features the iconic packaging and 8-year age statement that helped define the James B. Beam Distilling Co. Small Batch Collection.
The expression is described as subtly sweet with a fine edge of spice, reflecting the approachable flavor profile that has long distinguished Basil Hayden within the small batch bourbon category.
Honoring Booker Noe’s Founding Vision
First introduced in 1992 by Booker Noe as part of Beam’s Small Batch Collection, Basil Hayden was created to offer a lighter, brighter bourbon profile designed to expand perceptions of what bourbon could be. Inspired by high-rye mash bill bourbons, the brand was positioned as an approachable alternative to heavier, more robust styles, challenging traditional category expectations.
The return of the 8-Year-Old “Bibbed” Bourbon underscores the brand’s historical roots and Noe’s goal of broadening bourbon’s appeal while maintaining craftsmanship and consistency.
A Bourbon Known for Challenging Category Conventions
Basil Hayden has continued to build on its identity as a bourbon that defies convention through innovation and expanded expressions, including Toast, Dark Rye, Malted Rye, and Basil Hayden 10-Year-Old. The brand has also reinforced its positioning through recent creative campaigns highlighting its bright, versatile profile and iconic belt-adorned packaging.
