Drinks International has released its 2022 Brands Report for a host of spirits, including American Whiskey. And, for the first time since 2019, Maker’s Mark Bourbon has returned to the top spot in the list of best selling American Whiskey brands. Maker’s Mark edged out Bulleit Bourbon by a very narrow margin for 2022; both were the “house pour” in 18% of the bars polled and second choice in around 11%. Notably, 9 of the Top 10 American Whiskies appeared on the list last year; Elijah Craig making its return to the list after only a one year hiatus.
How does Drinks International prepare this list?
The Annual Brands Report results are the culmination of a survey of 100 bars from 33 countries around the world which have been nominated or won international awards. The report offers a picture of the buying habits of the world’s best bars – not only which brands sell best, but also what’s trending to indicate the brands that are hot right now.
