BHAKTA Spirits has unveiled its third annual single vintage bourbon offering, the BHAKTA 2011 Bourbon
Limited Edition Release of BHAKTA 2011 Bourbon
BHAKTA Spirits has unveiled its third annual single vintage bourbon offering, the BHAKTA 2011 Bourbon, with a suggested retail price of $149. Only 11 barrels of this release will be made available, making it the smallest run to date in the brand’s House of Vintages series.
Complex Armagnac Cask Finishing
Distilled in Tennessee, the BHAKTA 2011 Bourbon was finished in a curated selection of single‑vintage Armagnac casks housed in the Bhakta‑Griswold Spirits Library at the brand’s Vermont campus. Key finishing barrels include vintages from BHAKTA 1973 Armagnac (“No. 1 Spirit in the World,” Ultimate Spirits Challenge; “Best in Show,” TAG Spirits Awards; 98 Points, IWSC) and BHAKTA 1984 Armagnac (“Best in Show,” TAG Spirits Awards; “Best Product By Quality,” USA Spirits Ratings).
Founder’s Milestone Selection
Among this year’s finishing casks is the 1975 Armagnac—a Golden Anniversary Milestone Release marking the birth year of Founder Raj Peter Bhakta, who personally oversees barrel selection for all limited releases. This personal involvement underscores the brand’s emphasis on heritage and precision in crafting each bourbon expression.
The Specs & Mash Bill:
BHAKTA 2011 Bourbon is bottled at 111 proof (55.5% ABV) and aged 12 years and 10 months. Its mash bill consists of 84% corn, 8% rye, and 8% malted barley. Finished and bottled by hand in Vermont, this expression aims to deliver rarity, complexity, and pedigree in every bottle.
Award‑Winning Legacy & Brand Vision
Dubbed “The Number One” in homage to BHAKTA Spirits’ prolific award wins, the 2011 Bourbon aligns with the brand’s legacy of top honors across global spirits competitions. Recent accolades include “No. 1 Spirit in the World,” “Best Bourbon,” “Best Single Barrel Bourbon,” “Best Distillery,” “Armagnac Best of Show,” and many more—spanning categories from rye and rum to Indian single malt whisky.
Founder Quote
“George Washington. Michael Jordan. Julius Caesar. Muhammad Ali. This limited edition release of BHAKTA 2011 Bourbon celebrates what it means to be No. 1,” says Founder Raj Peter Bhakta. “That’s you. That’s me. That’s all of us. Why settle for a participation trophy? Don’t get tired of winning. ‘The Number One’ is an old, bold, and powerful bourbon — Babe Ruth meets Napoleon — a no‑training‑wheels thumper uniting American whiskey bravado with the timeless sophistication of Armagnac, France’s crown jewel. Taste it and you’ll see why BHAKTA Spirits has won more No. 1 awards across more categories than just about any other brand. This one’s for the top dog in all of us.”
