Blue Note Bourbon is set to release their first Single Barrel Straight Rye Whiskey and the price is awesome!

MEMPHIS, TN – June 17, 2025 – Blue Note Bourbon™, the award-winning whiskey portfolio crafted to honor Memphis’s rich blues music heritage, has launched its first Single Barrel Straight Rye Whiskey. This limited-release expression, born in Kentucky and crafted in Memphis, celebrates the city’s soulful spirit.

Distilled with a classic mash bill of 95% rye and 5% malted barley, this rye whiskey is aged a minimum of four years and bottled unfiltered between 116-124 proof. It’s now available for purchase at BlueNoteBourbon.com and select retailers across 20 U.S. states for a suggested retail price of $49.95 per 750ml bottle.

Tasting Notes: A Bold and Smooth Experience

The Blue Note Single Barrel Straight Rye Whiskey offers a rich and complex profile:
  • Nose: Beautifully soft and inviting – perfumed fruits, lots of warm honey sweetness, baked apples, and plenty of buttered toffee long lasting in the glass
  • Palate: Dense and tingly, initially offering up leather as well as deep, developed berry notes. Thick cherry cobbler begins to soak into the palate as even deeper herbal and spice notes begin to surface. All tied together with fudge covered graham notes and ginger
  • Finish: Long and trailing with slightly perfumed candied fruits, toasted honey, and Thin Mint cookies lasting well into the long finish.

Crafted in the Heart of Memphis

Blue Note’s whiskey is distilled in partnership with Lofted Spirits (formerly Bardstown Bourbon Company, parent company of Green River Distilling) and aged just north of downtown Memphis, where the Mississippi and Wolf Rivers meet. The region’s hot summers and cooler evenings drive the whiskey deep into the oak, creating a bold yet smooth flavor unique to Memphis’s climate.

Blue Note’s Award-Winning Portfolio

The Blue Note portfolio includes its flagship expressions: Juke Joint ($34.99), Crossroads ($44.99), Uncut ($49.99), and Straight Rye Whiskey ($34.99). In 2024, Juke Joint and Crossroads earned Platinum Medals at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition for three consecutive Double Gold wins, while the Straight Rye Whiskey secured a Double Platinum Medal at the 2024 ASCOT Awards.
