During a recent trip to Denver, I took a short journey to Boulder to meet our good friend Ryan. He graciously offered a quick tour of Vapor Distilling and introduced me to some of the latest pours from Boulder Spirits. Tasting Notes: Boulder Spirits 10 Essentials
Nose: Stone fruits of peach and cherry hit you right on the nose, which are balanced by caramel, vanilla and white pepper.
Palate: Ripe peach shows right up on the palate. That note along brings in so many memories as a kid and one of my favorite whiskey moments with our friend Brandon Smith “thedailydram”. I love when a pour takes my mind different places and transports me to memories. As this pour opens up, more vanilla starts to come through and it turns into peach cobbler à la mode almost. The back part of the palate does pick up some spice from the barrel and leaves the tip of your tongue tingling.
Finish: The peach note continues to shine through with some drying notes from the cask finish and rounds out with a lingering sweet vanilla.
