Jake’s Tasting Notes: Lost Lantern Boulder Spirits Single Barrel
Nose: fruity, chocolate, and cinnamon. The malted barely really shines in the nose.
Palate: Apricot, cinnamon and white pepper. This pour doesn’t drink at all like it’s a high proof whiskey!
Finish: Dry, long with flavors of chocolate and fresh apricots.
Lost Lantern’s Tasting Notes for Boulder Spirits Single Barrel
This six-year-old straight bourbon whiskey was made from an unusual high-malt mashbill (51% corn, 44% malted barley, and 5% rye) that adds great heft and a hearty texture. It has a very rich nose, with notes of dark chocolate and warm apple strudel. It is warm, spicy, and sweet on the palate, with a very long finish.
Closing Thoughts
If you haven’t tried Boulder Spirits, this might be the opportunity to do so. You will get a unique bourbon with a proof that most people seek out. I can see this bottle selling out super fast as bourbon people love high proof. Don’t miss this pour.
